My bestfriend since college days introduced me to this new form of communication. Being an obedient girl, (hehehe) I signed up for an account so that we could exchange thoughts. At first, I thought having my own blog is an overkill in order to stay in touch. Afterall, we do talk on the phone, chat more oftenly and email constantly, so having another avenue for communication is a bit too much.

I have changed my mind since then. Putting your thoughts in a channel such as this has its unique perks. It's private, relaxing, a good way to flex my fingers and is even therapeutic at some instances.

With blogspots, I can be whomever I want to be without fear of criticism and rejection. I can write anything, satisfy my narcissistic impulses and worry not that somebody will put me on my proper place. Yeah, yeah, there's the comment feature but unless I click it, I never need to know what others think about what I have written. Even better is the fact that I can choose the people to share my blog with.

My friend is also right in the aspect that we can share ideas better through blogspots because unlike face to face communication, one is never hurried in forming ideas and thoughts. I can take my own sweet time writing this piece for example. And unlike emails wherein you have to wait for your intended recipient to log in to reply, blogs do not necessarily wait for comments. I guess, I now see this as a cheaper alternative to shrink sessions and overindulgence in anything that is temporary bliss.

Technology indeed has its wonderful side. Just hope and pray that this doesn't turn into something not so wonderful.
